There is many ways of finding out DNA, you can have blood tests or they can sample your blood, to find out information on your genes and basically everything about you. DNA samples are used in the law, if someone is accused of a crime and held for that crime, thei
r DNA will be held on records, regardless of being innocent. And they will be held for 5 years, where as in Scotland they go immediatley.
